Looking for a hard wearing, rustic table full of character? You’ve found it. Hand crafted by our dedicated team using reclaimed pine timber salvaged locally from Bideford Quay in Devon. This wonderful timber has so many natural amazing features including a beautiful grain, large knots and best of all a rich golden/honey/bronze colour that is unlike any table you see on the high street. Our skilled carpenters can make this table to any size for you therefore, you can maximise or minimise to fit your room. We use a lovely 2” thick top which creates a chunky look that is so in keeping with the character of the table and the 4” square rustic legs and frame that it sits upon. Generally the top is not over sanded in order to create a smooth but slightly uneven surface to complete the ruggedness of the table. We can finish this completely smooth though if you so wish. It is quite natural to find original splits and nail holes in the timbers, this is entirely natural from the reclaimed material we use and will not affect the strength and structure of the table – it is actually part of the character!
Don’t worry about getting it in the house either – all of our tables are delivered fully assembled but, we can remove the top for access and then re fit it once it’s in position. Traditionally, our Reclaimed Pine Quay tables are hand finished with a light sanding to remove any roughness (whilst retaining the character in the timber) and then wax polished. We can leave them simply polished and buffed for you as standard or we can add a clear protective oil on top of the wax to provide a protective layer against spillages etc. If you have a particularly busy household with children wishing to craft at the table as well as eat then the oil is recommended. To care for your new Quay table, we recommend waxing or oiling once or twice a year to maintain the lustre finish.
