We made this bed recently upon the request of a wonderful regular customer, well, more of a friend than a customer. The design brief was rustic hit and miss pine boards, no finish, with plenty of storage. During the conversation, we drew up the plan and as the room space was limited we had to make everything fit just so. The bed was pushed up against a wall so we made deep drawer storage of one side with soft close runners and four smaller drawers front end to utilise as much space as possible. Originally, the boards were to be horizontal and then change to vertical – the final result was a little of both.
