We do not undertake to deliver or collect any loads over roads or other ground which we consider to be unsuitable. If a vehicle is used for performing our contract with a customer, delivers or collects a load to or from a place situated off a hard roadway, the customer is to be solely responsible for any accident or damage resulting in consequence. We may also reserve the right to refuse delivery to any site with unsuitable access, it will then become the customer’s responsibility to arrange alternative transport.
In order to maintain the quality of our service we like to use our own delivery service whenever possible therefore the majority of our Furniture deliveries are carried out by our in house team. In order to keep costs down we use a one man delivery therefore, you will need to arrange someone fit and able to assist the delivery driver. If this is a issue then we can arrange a two man delivery for an additional fee. If a delivery is required urgently or if it is beyond our limitations then sometimes we will use a courier. When we use a courier, your goods are well packaged and loaded securely on a pallet – all furniture is bubble wrapped and encased in an MDF box where possible to reduce the risk of damage. The courier driver will only deliver kerbside so please make arrangements to carry your goods into the house. A signature will be requested upon delivery. All goods must be inspected for quality and quantity upon receipt, any problems must be notified within 24 hours.
If the item(s) you have ordered are in stock then we will endeavour to get this to you as soon as possible. You will be contacted to be advised of a delivery timescale. If you are having/waiting for an item(s) to be made then you will be contacted near the time of completion and a suitable delivery day will be arranged. Please note, all of our furniture is hand made and unique and our listed sizes are approxiamte. To avoid any dissapointment PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK your measurements for access into the house/room. We would much rather you ask us three times to measure your individual piece to ensure it is going to fit where you intend it to be. PLEASE NOTE: all deliveries are to the GROUND FLOOR ONLY.
Hard Materials & Flooring
For stone and timber deliveries, these are likely to be palletised and delivered by courier for further afield customers. You will be contacted to arrange a convenient day for delivery. When we use a courier, your goods are well packaged and loaded securely on a pallet – please note, the pallet will be left with you and is your responsibility to either re use or dispose of. The courier driver will only deliver kerbside so please make arrangements to carry your goods into the house. A signature will be requested upon delivery. All goods must be inspected for quality and quantity upon receipt, any problems must be notified within 24 hours. When we deliver using our own transport we use a one man delivery therefore, you will need to arrange someone fit and able to assist the delivery driver. If this is a issue then we can arrange a two man delivery for an additional fee.
Please note, for goods of a certain length i.e beyond 4ft long (flooring boards, granite gateposts, oak sleepers, slate cills, etc) there is a default charge of £90 for delivery as these goods will cover a minimum of 2 pallets via courier. If you are fairly local to us, please do contact us as we may be able to get your order onto one of our own vehicles which may result in a slightly cheaper delivery cost.
Whilst we make every effort to adhere to lead times, we are occasionally subject to delays due to illness and unforeseen circumstances. Winkleigh Timber Ltd and Winkleigh Pine Furniture cannot be held liable for any delay in delivery beyond our control.
All delivery prices are subject to VAT @ 20% which will be added in the basket automatically.
All Furniture deliveries are quoted before vat on ‘View Basket’ when you enter your postcode.
Hard Materials: Our deliveries are based mainly upon weight v’s destination. Please see pallet weight details below as a guidance. Your price may be different at the checkout if the goods are classed as a quarter or half pallet.
Small Items such as samples and ironmongery etc are sent nationwide via the Royal Mail/Parcelforce or My Hermes courier. Prices include P & P

Items of a longer length – Flooring, Sleepers, Cills, Gateposts, Kerbstones Etc.
Due to the length of these products, the delivery charge has to be a minimum of £90 to cover the length/costs of two pallets. For local deliveries of these goods please contact us direct for a delivery time and fee.
Cancellation & Returns Policy
The customer has a “cooling off” period which expires 14 days after the day you received your goods. However, if this period expires on a non-working day, your deadline is extended till the next working day.
Should you wish to cancel your order, you may do so in writing by post, email, fax or telephone. See: Returns Form. If a bespoke or altered product is already in manufacture then we have the right to withhold your deposit.
In the unlikely event that you wish to return an item(s) please do contact us within 14 days from delivery.
We will only accept a return as long as the goods are in the same condition as delivered to you.
The goods must be returned to us within 14 days from notification of withdrawral from contract.
The customer will be responsible for returning the item(s) -this includes the cost of returning the item(s). Should you require us to collect the item from you there will be a charge or alternatively, you can return it to our warehouse by your own transportation.
Should an item be returned with damage or staining then we reserve the right to refuse the return and refund or we will charge you for the reduction in value of the goods depending on whether we are able to re-sell the goods. A refund will only be issued when we are satisfied with the returned goods.
Bespoke/Customised Products – The 14 day ‘cooling off’ period does not apply to any products made or altered specifically for you. These cannot be refused, returned or refunded unless they have been accidently damaged by us in the course of transit.
